Amy Poehler Stars in New Xfinity Commercials

Amy Poehler Stars in New Xfinity Commercials

Amy Poehler is the face of a new year-long ad campaign for its Xfinity cable service. Amy did an interview with The Drum on the new campaign and you can read more about it & watch the TV spots below!

Parks and Recreation star Amy Poehler is the featured player in a set of ads for Comcast’s Xfinity, and the comedic actor, producer, and director said she had fun filming the spots.

The year-long Xfinity advertising campaign starring Poehler, called ‘Simple, Easy, Awesome – starring Amy Poehler,’ utilizes her unique sense of humor and wit to put a spotlight on the brand’s product benefits, across Xfinity Internet, Xfinity TV, and Xfinity Mobile.

One spot, ‘Make Yourself at Home,’ finds Poehler on a couch using Xfinity’s voice activation feature to look at baby sloth videos. Pan out and we see that she has made herself comfortable in an Xfinity store and is surrounded by staff and shoppers.

Created in partnership with Goodby Silverstein & Partners, the fully integrated campaign kicks off on February 4 and will roll out throughout 2019. Stacy Wall directed the TV spots.

“Doing this commercial makes my parents very happy,” joked Poehler in an email interview with The Drum. She went on to say that she had plenty of creative input during the filming process, but there are plenty more spots to come in the future.

“We have just started, but it’s been a very fun and collaborative process so far. It’s been a pleasure to work with everyone and the scripts have been fun,” she said.

A second spot, ‘Potpourri,’ has Poehler explaining that a great thing about having the “fastest, most reliable Internet” is that all your kids’ friends want to come over. Unfortunately, that’s also the thing that’s not so awesome. As she explains that, surrounded by children, a child with an empty glass bowl comes up and asks her for more chips. Poehler says, “Oh, Freddy, that was potpourri.” So, he asks for more “pepperee” and she says, “I don’t see why not. It comes from nature.”

Poehler told The Drum that there was plenty of room for improvisation during the shoot. “It’s always fun to try new things and experiment with what would work in the short amount of time a commercial allows. Plus, we are working with kids and dogs, so they are always going off script…. The kids are so funny and such professionals. I really look up to them.”

The two launch spots will air across television, digital, mobile, and radio.
In addition to the creative content, the Comcast partnership with Poehler includes product integration into the company’s award-winning Xfinity X1 platform. Customers can say things like “Amy is Awesome” and “Everything Amy Poehler” into the X1 voice remote and they’ll not only be taken to a special page with a curated collection of Amy’s movies, shows, talk show appearances, and more, but also unlock special voice messages from Amy herself.

“Working with Amy has been a dream – her charm, charisma, and relatability are a great fit for Xfinity and her improv skills really took our creative to another level,” said Eileen Diskin, senior vice-president, marketing communications at Comcast. “We’re proud to have her represent our brand and look forward to building on our partnership with Amy throughout the year.”

The campaign brings to life the idea that you don’t have to be an expert to get the most out of technology, and the commercials put Amy in real-life locations ranging from a family’s home to an Xfinity retail store. The campaign will include multiple TV spots to roll out in the coming months.

Rumor: ‘Wine Country’ Release Date

Rumor: ‘Wine Country’ Release Date

During an interview at the Golden Globes, Amy confirmed that ‘Wine Country’ is set to be released in May, but she never said a specific date. The website Popculture.com is reporting that the movie’s release date is May 10, but it has yet to be confirmed by Netflix. Read more about it below:

Three movies from three huge female stars are reportedly on their way to Netflix: Brie Larson’s Unicorn Store, Gina Rodriguez’s Someone Great and Amy Poehler’s Wine Country.

All three movies feature their famous female leads both in front of and behind the camera. Unicorn Store was directed by Larson—her first ever feature as a director. Poehler is also the director of Wine Country, though she has overseen four TV episodes before. Rodriguez, meanwhile, is a producer on Someone Great.

Meanwhile, Wine Country brings together some of Poehler’s most beloved collaborators under her direction. The cast includes Maya Rudolph, Tina Fey, Rachel Dratch and Jason Schwartzman, among others. It follows a group of friends on a road trip to Napa, where they intend to celebrate a 50th birthday. The movie is one of Netflix’s most hotly anticipated originals of the year, but the May 10 release date still has yet to be confirmed.

Paula Pell Teases Amy Poehler’s Directorial Debut Wine Country

Paula Pell Teases Amy Poehler’s Directorial Debut Wine Country

During an interview with Vulture, Paula Pell was asked about Amy’s directorial debut Wine Country. She talked a little bit about the plot of the movie and all the actress that are involved in it. You can watch the video and read an article below!

Paula Pell can’t say much about Netflix’s forthcoming movie Wine Country, but she did say her part “may involve dildos.” The project, which she also teased will be released in “springish time,” marks Amy Poehler’s directorial debut. Pell sat down alongside Richard Kind, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Rhys Thomas, and Alex Buono at Vulture Spot at Sundance to talk about their new episode of IFC’s Documentary Now, but things got a little off-topic.

Wine Country was inspired by a true story — but not the kind of tear-jerking, stranger-than-fiction tale you might associate with that tagline. In reality, the idea for the film came to Poehler after a girls’ trip to Napa for Rachel Dratch’s 50th birthday with fellow mid-2000s SNL powerhouse alums Pell, Dratch, Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer, Tina Fey, and Emily Spivey.

Pell revealed that while the actresses don’t play themselves in the film, the story is still about the group. “Every fault and every wonderful thing” remains present in each of the characters, Pell said. Little else is known about the project, except that it also includes Jason Schwartzman and Cherry Jones, and was co-written by Spivey and former SNL writer Liz Cackowski.

From the group of friends that brought us thisthis, and this, it’s definitely about time they all got together and made a movie. “When the friendship stays real off camera, you get the results on camera,” Dratch previously told Vulture.
