I was the daughter of teachers, so school was always very important. I liked it.

Where do I begin? Shoulder pads, parachute pants, acid-wash jean jackets, stirrup pants, big hair. All of it was awful.

I had no idea how to get guys to notice me. I still don’t. Who cares?

What was your after-school job?
I worked at an ice cream parlor called Chadwicks. We wore old-timey outfits and had to bang a drum, play a kazoo, and sing “Happy Birthday” to people while giving them free birthday sundaes. Lots of ice cream scooping and $1 tips. Fun fact: Rachel Dratch worked there a few years ahead of me but we never met!
